    The Cath Lab Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner reports to the  Physician Assistant Clinical Coordinator and Clinical Director and provides functions such as, but not limited to evaluating, assessing and managing the care of the patients that are requiring services from  Interventional Cardiology. In the Cardiac Catheterization Lab the Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner shall provide service primarily in the Cardiac Cath Lab and Electrophysiology Lab patients, and patient care areas. The Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner  participates actively in the scheduling, pre-cath, admission, transfer and discharge planning process including preparation of transfer and discharge documents such as medication reconciliation forms, discharge summaries, and prescriptions. The Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner will work in the procedural area, assisting the physician in Interventional procedures to include patient prep, obtaining femoral artery access and assisting with diagnostic and interventional procedures. The Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner is responsible for access site management and will perform manual pressure and utilize other technologies to ensure hemostasis.  The Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner  also works closely with the nursing staff and other hospital staff in a multidisciplinary, team-oriented fashion. This includes regular dialogue regarding patient care, and providing ongoing education.


    Graduate of a PA/NP program accredited by The Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, or its predecessor.

    Current ACLSGraduate of a PA/NP program accredited by The Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, or its predecessor.
    Current ACLS
    Current NYS license as a Registered Physician Assistant or Nurse Pratitioner
    Recent Cardiac Cath Lab experience or successfully trained to cardiac cath lab within 6 months of
