Doctor of Medicine/Doctor of Osteopathy
Current New York State License.
Board Certified in a specialty included in the department.
Requires clinical creditability and experience as a practicing physician with privileges which would include experience in Hospital Performance Improvement programs.
Possesses interpersonal skills necessary to interact and build trust, with members of the medical departmental staff and hospital administration.
Demonstrates the attributes of an excellent listener and active communicator.
Possesses administrative, organizational, data-management, and professional collaboration skills.
Ability to actively participate in and contribute to Medical Board level committees.
Consistently present for required meetings, and is accountable for the submission of timely required reports.
The Clinical Department Chairman reports directly to the VP - CQMO. Department chairs are responsible for all clinical and administrative activities occurring within their department, and for integrating the primary functions of the hospital into the department’s activities.
The Chair will be held accountable for departmental performance as it relates to the functioning of the clinical staff, and ensuring medical standards of care are followed and realized.
The Chair must attend meetings and actively participate as a member of Medical Board, its committees as assigned, as well as those meetings identified and directed by the VP- Chief Quality Medical Officer in this document.
