Under general supervision, compounds, dispenses medication and other pharmaceutical supplies according to established operational and chemical procedures, as prescribed by qualified prescribers. Reviews and interprets prescriptions, obtains clarifications as necessary and regularly consults with medical staff, nursing personnel and others in order to coordinate delivery of a high pharmaceutical service to hospital patients and selected outpatients. Oversees and closely reviews the work of technical and clerical support.
Days/Evenings/Weekends/Holidays - as needed to meet the needs of the Pharmacy Department
Pharm.D. or BS in Pharmacy required.
Ability to walk and/or stand for 85% of the work time
Knowledge of clinical intervention, and the ability to meet the specific needs of the patient population
Knowledge of and in-depth understanding of pharmaceuticals to prepare and dispense medications
Three to six months on-the-job experience
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Detail oriented with a high level of analytical ability
