The Psychiatric Social Worker is responsible for providing high quality patient care, displaying good skills in assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, group treatment, individual treatment, family treatment, and discharge planning. Provides crisis intervention counseling, to patients and families; educates patients and families about community resources for their aftercare plans. Collaborates with intra and inter hospital departments to obtain and provide clinical information about patients to assist with their discharge plan. Assists team with providing a safe and therapeutic environment for the patients. Integral member of the multidisciplinary team.
Master’s degree in Social Work; current New York State license - LCSW.
Crisis intervention skills, Individual, group, and family therapy experience.
Knowledgeable in federal, state and local regulations.
Two years experience working with psychiatric patients preferred.
